Israel is preparing for the possibility that rockets will be fired from the Gaza Strip at central Israel tonight, the Kan public broadcaster reports.

Air traffic in and out of Israel has been diverted away from the Gaza Strip in light of concerns that terror groups in the enclave may fire rockets toward Israel.

Planes entering and leaving Israel are doing so through flight paths to the north of Ben Gurion International Airport.

Hamas has told Israel that it must withdraw all its troops from the Har Habayis by 6 PM or it will attack.

The city of Ashkelon opens all its public bomb shelters after terror groups in the Gaza Strip threaten to attack Israel unless security forces are removed from parts of Jerusalem.

The move is made at the discretion of the mayor, not as a result of a direct request from the military.

“Despite the fact that we have not received an official request to do so, we decided to act on this issue out of an abundance of caution,” Mayor Tomer Glam says.
