IDF troops, acting on intelligence provided by the Shin Bet, arrested a 38-year-old pregnant terrorist in Samaria after security forces received information indicating that she was planning to carry out a stabbing attack.

The woman was intercepted near Ganot Junction while traveling toward Homesh, close to Shavei Shomron.

Security forces found the suspect carrying a knife when she was apprehended. She was taken into custody and transferred to security personnel for further questioning and investigation. No injuries were reported during the arrest.

The arrest came just hours after another terrorist incident in Samaria, when terrorists threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli vehicle traveling along Route 55 on Wednesday morning.

The firebomb smashed onto the roadway and burst into flames without striking the vehicle, which was able to continue driving. There were no injuries in the attack.

IDF forces dispatched to the area subsequently discovered two additional Molotov cocktails that had been thrown nearby. Troops then entered surrounding Palestinian Arab villages and carried out searches as part of the effort to locate those responsible.

Meanwhile, IDF engineering units spent the day removing vegetation and other potential hiding places alongside sections of the roadway. The clearing operation was aimed at denying terrorists cover from which they could approach the highway and target passing Israeli vehicles.
