At least three rockets were launched into Israel from the Gaza Strip, with two being intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, the Israeli Defense Forces said Sunday evening.
Sirens warning of incoming rocket fire in Sderot, Kibbutz Or HaNer, Nir Am and Gevim sent thousands of residents in the south to seeking safety in nearby shelters.
Shrapnel from the Iron Dome missile defense system damaged a building in Sderot but no injuries were reported.
