Yesterday, Matzav.com has learned, Yeedle Werdyger received a phone call from Avraham Fried, asking him where he is. “I have to bring you a special gift,” said the always affable Avremel.

Yeedle made up to meet Avremel at a sheva brachos in Boro Park.

Once they were together, Avremel pulled a paper out of his pocket and explained that he was holding a letter written by the Lubavitcher Rebbe two days before Yeedle’s wedding 31-1/2 years ago. The letter was addressed to Yeedle and wished him mazel tov and brachos upon his chasunah. [Matzav.com]

The letter, however, never made its way to Yeedle, instead remaining at 770 Eastern Parkway for three decades.

Just recently, one of the sons of the Rebbe’s secretaries came across the letter and reached out to Avremel, asking if he knows who “Yehuda Avigdor Werdyger” is.

Avremel promptly called his good friend, Mordechai Ben David Werdyger, who confirmed that, indeed, it was his son, Yeedle. [Matzav.com]

And so, over 31 years after the letter was written, the letter was finally delivered to its rightful recipient, delivered by a worthy shliach, R’ Avremel Fried.
