Interior Ministry Rejects Converts Who Don’t Go To Shul, Leaving Reform FURIOUS

Israel’s Interior Ministry recently rejected nine non-Orthodox conversions conducted in Israel and still needs to decide about 17 others, arguing that in many of these cases the converts barely attend shul.

The Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC) of Israel’s Reform movement is furious. Last year, the High Court ruled that non-Orthodox conversions conducted in Israel should be recognized for purposes of the Law of Return just like non-Orthodox conversions performed overseas.

But the Interior Ministry maintains that converts in Israel must attend shul, due to a requirement that people converted overseas must be associated with “a recognized Jewish community” for at least nine months to be recognized by Israel.

IRAC maintains that the shul requirement is superfluous because merely living in Israel makes the converts part of “one big Jewish community.”

  1. Many Deformed Jews see the insides of their temples for the first time, when they are already at room temperature, lying in a silk and velvet lined box. Did anyone really expect their fictitious converts to be more religious?

  2. Who is the secular Interior Ministry to meddle into orthodox conversions? If we allow them to meddle in religious affairs they’ll soon force orthodox shuls to accept reform converts who go to shul.

    • Reform converts are welcome to pray at any orthodox synagogue just like any other non-Jew. I’ve known some who would later become Jews.

Nebach nebach. Forget about the converts for a moment. How many FRUM ffb’s still have NOT returned to Shul since Purim of 2020?! They claim they don’t come to daven anymore because they’re petrified of Covid. Going shopping, flying on planes, going to their office, that’s okay, but to go to a Shul, even with a plastic partition by the bima…NO. These so-called Frum people should have their yichus checked.

    • I’ve gone to shul all my life (except for the time overseas in Bangkok, Thailand and Viet Nam where there were no kosher shuls). I haven’t been to shul in over 2 years since the beginning of Covid because inzerer Yiden think that there is no virus (until they themselves become c’v sick) and are very careless with exposing themselves and others to all types of viruses, flu & bacteria. I am in an extremely high risk category, especially since I had my spleen removed after an auto accident. Many friends and acquaintances who’ve gone to shul their entire life are also prevented from going to shul because of the unsafe behavior of those who don’t believe in the fact that Covid is still around. I am not vaccinated and I will not take those poison shots but I will remain vigilant and will try my best to protect myself and all Yiden from becoming ill.

      • Have you heard of Dr. Zelenko’s discoveries?
I have empirical evidence, and vast eye-witness experience, that his protocols work amazingly well. Especially for high-risk individuals.

Besides, Pfizer’s drug Paxlovid is on the market, and its effectiveness is arguably even better than Zelenko’s therapies.
True, Paxlovid is still not readily available, but they do usually make sure it’s available for high-risk cases.
(With all the aforementioned cures, it must be taken beginning within 5 days of symptoms.)

        Hatzlachah!
