On Thursday there were two construction related deaths in less than three hours.

The first incident occurred at a construction site in Be’er Yaakov when a metal plate fell on a construction worker in his 30s and killed him.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Aryeh Mendelssohn was one of the first responders at the scene and said: “Workers at the scene told us when we arrived that the metal plate fell on a man while he was working at the site. Due to the severity of his injuries there wasn’t anything we could do to save him and his death was pronounced at the scene.

The second incident occurred some two and a half hours later in Bnei Dekalim when a 35-year-old man was killed after a wall collapsed and fell on him also at a construction site.

United Hatzalah volunteer Dr. Matan Golan was one of the first responders at the scene and said: “The incident involved a wall that collapsed at a construction site. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything for us to do to help the man and his death was pronounced at the scene due to the severity of the I juries that he suffered.”
