Quarantine for 14 days is mandated by Israeli authorities in various circumstances. These include:

  • Passengers arriving from abroad who are not recognized in Israel as recovered or vaccinated
  • All passengers arriving from certain high risk countries, even if they are recognized in Israel as recovered or vaccinated
  • All non-recovered/vaccinated persons who have come into contact with confirmed Covid patients

Until now, it was possible to shorten quarantine to 10 days. Chaim V’Chessed has informed Matzav.com that it will now be possible to shorten this period to seven days. Professor Nachman Ash, Director General of the Health Ministry announced this new leniency, effective immediately. As per Chaim V’Chessed, persons in quarantine who have one negative PCR test, and then perform a second PCR test on the seventh day of quarantine, may exit quarantine immediately upon receiving negative results. It is no longer necessary to wait for an official release from the Health Ministry.
