Israel rejected offers of truce on behalf of the Hamas terrorist group, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday at a meeting of the top military bras and security officials occasioned by the sharp escalation between the Jewish state and Gaza-based Islamists.

Israeli media reported that the so-called security cabinet — comprising of Netanyahu, Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi and several others — agreed to up by another notch the offensive against the terrorists, amid an understanding that the military operation could go on for another week.

  1. The cowardice of not taking this to its completion ensures that there will be a spat like this in a few more years. The only difference is that next time their projectile will have greater accuracy and farther range.
    If you look at the history since Sharon gave back control of Gaza, every few years Hamas launches such attacks, and every time their capabilities are amplified over the previous spat.
    Last time they managed to get an air raid siren to go off Jerusalem once, and hit Tel Aviv once.
    The time before they couldn’t get near Jerusalem, but got the air raid siren in Tel Aviv to go off.
    It is time to reoccupy Gaza.
    This is a defensive war. They started we must end it.
