Justice Dept. Says Suspected Murderer Of American Jewish Journalist Will Not Escape Justice

The acting US Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen warned Wednesday that Washington will not let the suspected murderer of an American Jewish journalist escape justice.

The statement issued by the Justice Department came in response to a Pakistani court ruling, striking down the detention order for Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh — the suspected mastermind behind Daniel Pearl’s murder in 2002.

Pearl, a bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, was kidnapped and subsequently beheaded in the Pakistani city of Karachi as he worked on a story on Islamist militants.
