Lakewood, NJ – Today, Erev Shavuos, is primary day in Ocean County and one seat on the Lakewood Township Committee is being challenged. Committeeman Steven Langert is running for a third term this fall, but will first try to fend off a challenge from a sitting member of the Board of Education, Joel Schwartz, who has run a grassroots campaign.
Committeeman Ray Coles is also on the ballot in November, but does not face a serious primary challenge.
Langert is teamed with Mike D’Elia on the Republican ticket, with Moshe Raitzik joining Coles on the Democratic line.
The top two vote-getters on each line will be on the ballot in the general election.
