The crowd of crying men, women and children split apart last night, as Rav Gamliel Rabinowirz stepped through on his way to the podium to eulogize 40-year-old Moshe Davis. Davis was a young father of five, and passed away suddenly in his sleep. Left behind are a devastated young widow and her yesomim, the youngest of whom is a baby.

This had not been Moshe’s first brush with death: three years ago, he was in a serious car accident which left him unable to use his legs.

Sara Davis, Moshe’s widow, confided today that the family had been struggling behind closed doors since the accident. Moshe was unable to work and they fell deep into medical debt.

Overwhelmed and unable to put food on the table, Moshe fought to make income wherever he could. But before he was able to improve their lives, Moshe passed away in his sleep.

Now, Sara Davis is left in a horrible situation. The debts from the accident, the burden of poverty, and now the immense weight of the grief of losing her husband.

Donations are being collected via The Chesed Fund to help the Davis family.
