Camp Mayan Midwest has been making a buzz among girls looking to have an incredible summer this year. But what exactly is the Mayan Midwest experience that makes it so special?
Located in state of the art new campgrounds in Cossopolis Michigan, Mayan Midwest is a summer camp for girls grades 4 through 8 looking to have a summer to remember. The camp also offers a Teen Program for 9th and 10th graders that includes special programming tailored to the developing and more mature high school girl.
Mayan Midwest is geared towards girls from all families, communities and backgrounds. No matter where they are from, every camper is made to feel at home with the trademark Mayan Midwest warmth that emphasizes achdus and inclusiveness. This ensures that the summer is not just about the fun and exciting four week adventure, but will include a nurturing environment where campers and staff are part of one big Maayan family.
The brand new gorgeous campgrounds features freshly made bunkhouses, a fourteen hundred foot private lake bustling with lake activities, a new pool and a recording studio! There are also Group Hangout houses based on various different interests and skills for girls to connect with others who share similar passions. A creative approach to the camp’s schedule allows each camper’s activity preferences to be taken into account, creating programming suited for each individual’s interests and ensuring that no camper is ever bored!
No description of Mayan Midwest would be complete without mention of the tremendous effort that goes into infusing the summer with spiritual highs that leave a lasting impression on every child. At the height of this is the Mayan Shabbos, the highlight of each week that comes packed with special programming designed to infuse the campers with a love of Torah and Mitzvos.
Our warm and welcoming staff are carefully handpicked to ensure they are the proper role models and leaders who will do all they can to bring out the strengths of each camper. This year we have brought in Mrs. Chava Devorah Kahn to join us as Camp Program Director. Chava Devorah is a legend in the camping world, having made her mark as Senior staff in both Camp Raninu and Camp Sternberg. Mrs. Kahn will be working together with the Head counselor, Mrs. Liba Cohen, a camping veteran in her own right, whose years of experience and dynamic personality is guaranteed to make this summer the one your daughter won’t forget.
