[COMMUNICATED]

The imagery is almost too painful to be true:

A group of small children walk into what was once their bedroom. The walls are black from floor to ceiling. The beds are burnt to ash. Stuffed animals, books, and pajamas are charred beyond recognition. Their eyes fill with tears.

The night before, a young couple and eight children stood shivering on the sidewalk in the Beis Yisroel neighborhood of Jerusalem. A fire, the cause of which is unknown, burnt the Chalili family’s home to the ground. They were powerless to do anything but watch.

Now homeless, they long for a simple apartment of their own. They know their days asking for favors are limited. Mother Ahuva dreams of buying her children new clothing, and returning her family to a sense of normalcy. Their only remaining belongings are the pajamas they wore to bed that night. Now a nomad family, they roam from place to place. The youngest child, Shmuel, is only 2 years old.

Ahuva is asking desperately for help to get her family off of the streets and into a home of their own, so they can rediscover some sense of normalcy.
