Throughout her political career spanning two decades, Hatnuah leader MK Tzipi Livni has frequently caused the ire of the Knesset’s religious parties.
Yet on Thursday, MK Yoel Hasson, a lawmaker in Livni’s Hatnuah faction, revealed that his faction leader is more connected to Jewish ritual observance than previously thought. Speaking with the charedi newspaper Yom L’Yom, Hasson offered rare words of praise for the charedi community and alleged that Livni regularly attended synagogue and eats only Kosher food.
“Tzipi Livni is perceived as a secular Tel Avivian but this is false,” said Hasson. “Tzipi Livni is a traditional woman, who eats kosher, for which the Jewish tradition is important.”
Hasson added that Livni “goes to a synagogue and views preserving Israel as a Jewish State with Jewish values as extremely important”.

Fake news. Nonsense. Don’t try to paint her as Sarah Emainu. She worked undercover as a female for the Mossad. We all know what that entails. Don’t play stupid.
She goes to shul? Notice that there is a lack of details beyond that claim.. She probably attends shul for Rosh Hashana/Yom Kippur and observes a pesach seder at best. She doesn’t attend shul on a committed and consistent basis.
What is the chidoot? T Livni went to bnos yaakiv and know Nach very well.
Cold willing Netanyahu does not. Why not talk about her more? She might have to discuss the full yiddishkeit. Head coverings? Mikvah? Dresses only?
Maybe she will be a good hope. Is she ba’al teshuvah? Kosher good. Who else?
you dont know who tzipi livni is? if she was prime minister you would be screaming for netenyahu. tzipi was Sharons protege.
Maybe she’s one of the WOW women and can be found on Rosh Chodesh at the Kosel. Does she put on tefillin?

What she propagates in public more than offsets any good private act that she or other politicians claim to do
“Traditional” is not what we should strive for. “Traditional” means doing something soullessly out of habit, without any ideological or religious reasons. Arguably, being “traditional” may be worse than being a complete chiloni: at least chilonim don’t pretend, realize what’s missing, and have a chance to come back.
Does she keep Shabbos and Taharas Hamishpacha? Those are the big questions?
Bigger question: does she consume only chalav yisroel? That’s much much more important than the things you’ve mentioned.
If she eats kosher and goes to synagogue, “regularly” or occasionally, good for her.
