Prime Minister Netanyahu on Monday vowed Israel will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, following reports from the UN nuclear watchdog claiming Tehran has increased the rate of enriched uranium production.
Referencing the claims, Netanyahu said firmly in a video address: “I repeat: We will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons that will endanger us and the entire world.”
The Israeli premier also issued a harsh rebuke to Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif who earlier in the day said Tehran would not stand idly by concerning Israeli threats to “destroy Iran.”
“Zarif is lying again. It is Iran that openly threatens annihilation. The heads of the [Iranian] regime threaten the destruction of Israel daily. Iran is trying to establish itself militarily in Syria, and today it has been reported that it is accelerating its nuclear program,” Netanyahu said.
