Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday thanked US President Donald Trump’s Mideast peace envoys for their help solving a six-months long diplomatic spat between Israel and Jordan.
Late on Thursday the two neighbors revealed a deal had been struck to end the impasse sparked by the July deaths of two Jordanian nationals at the hands of a security official at Israel’s embassy in Amman.
Without divulging details of their assistance, Netanyahu said in a statement that he “expresses appreciation to both [Jason] Greenblatt and [Jared] Kushner for their behind the scenes efforts to resolve the crisis with Jordan.”
