New Instagram feature is underway: view Instagram Stories on PC with new layout

It is reported that Instagram is developing a new user-friendly format for viewing Stories on your PC. But it is too early to say whether the feature will be made available to the masses. A spokesperson confirmed that the design is indeed under development but is still being tested in small circles.

Previously (or more accurately still) on the desktop version, there is one full-screen Story without a carousel. So, you can’t scroll from the previous one to the current one and not yet reviewed. The change makes sense as in a current way it isn’t quite convenient or exciting to browse through the Stories. 

If the development is completed, you’ll be able to see the users’ Stories you’ve subscribed to in a format similar to the phone version: there is a carousel of Stories and the one you’re viewing is displayed across the screen. You will be able to swipe to the left or right to return to the previous Story or browse the next one.

This change will make browsing through the Stories more focused, convenient, and enjoyable. Thus, the developers have focused on making the IG feature even more popular than the posts feed and wish to make the user view Instagram Stories more engaging.
