NEXT STOP, MARTHA’S VINEYARD: DeSantis Ready to Send Haitian Migrants to Obama’s Backyard

During an interview this week, Florida Governor Ron DeSanits told conservative radio host Dana Loesch that he was ready to ship Haitian migrants who are landing in Florida up to liberal enclave Martha’s Vineyard.

From The Daily Wire:

DeSantis said that it was vital that the state of Florida interdict any vessel carrying illegal aliens before they hit the state’s shores because the state can’t push them back across the border like the state of Texas can since it borders Mexico.

“We do have our transport program also that’s going to be operational,” DeSantis said. “So Haitians land in the Florida Keys, their next stop very well may be Martha’s Vineyard.”

DeSantis said last week amid reports that a large influx of Haitians could illegally enter the state that Florida “has been dedicating significant resources to combat illegal vessels coming to Florida from countries such as Haiti.”

“Given the circumstances in Haiti, I have directed the Division of Emergency Management, the Florida State Guard, and state law enforcement agencies to deploy over 250 additional officers and soldiers and over a dozen air and sea craft to the southern coast of Florida to protect our state,” he said. “No state has done more to supplement the (under-resourced) U.S. Coast Guard’s interdiction efforts; we cannot have illegal aliens coming to Florida.”

The situation in Haiti went from bad to worse after gangs stormed the Port-au-Prince jail and freed thousands of criminals back onto the country’s streets in recent weeks. The small, impoverished country has been devastated by everything from major earthquakes to political assassinations.

  1. First, most migrants that have a phone with internet access use an APP ( “CPB One”) to register and gain lawful access as a “Refugee”, one admitted, the can apply to work with form pending a long wait to see a judge, and fill out a separate form for permission to work in the USA ( Form I-765). This only works with certain land borders in TEXAS ( Brownsville, Eagle Pass, Hidalgo, Laredo, and El Paso), Arizona ( Nogales), and California ( Calexico and San Ysidro).

Texas CAN’T, and WONT push out these migrants who come through lawful ports of Entry.

IN terms of Haiti, unless they make it to Mexico/ Central America first, they are basically subject to deportation unless they file a I-589 inside the USA making it past the border ( such as will happen in Florida).

The WHOLE Refugee / Asylum laws need to be changed.

    Why?

    A) People who really need help are pushed away. We have a moral obligation to help when we can.

    B) People who use the CBP App, or manage to apply once in the USA, as a refugee, are given a pathway to citizenship….there is no requirement in International law for this. Make Refugee status temporary, NEVER permanent, and never a way to become a US Citizen even with marriage to a US Citizen. then only permanent residency. When a country improves, review the status of a refugee.

FIRST, That would reduce the number of people who come to settle in the USA circumventing the expensive visa process lawful people are expected to apply for.
SECOND it would provide HELP for those who are in dire need and true refugees.

CONgress, Politicians, etc. are just throwing sand in your eyes with cheap tricks, and NOT solving the problem.

  2. Sorry been Fasting, my first paragraph should read:
