NYC Bombing Suspect Moved From Hospital to Prison

The man who is suspected of planting bombs in New York and New Jersey, injuring more than 30 people in total, was moved Tuesday to a New Jersey prison from his hospital room. Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, was reportedly transferred to a state prison in order to more closely ensure his safety, officials said.

New Jersey Corrections Department spokesman Matt Schuman would not identify the facility where he is being held. Rahami, an Afghan-born U.S. citizen, was hospitalized after a Sept. 19 gun fight with police that resulted in his capture. He has been charged with five counts of attempted murder of a police officer, among other counts, and he is held in lieu of a $5.2 million bond. READ Read more.
