Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday morning that New York City will require proof of vaccination for people participating in indoor activities, including at restaurants, gyms and performances, his latest attempt to spur more vaccinations. The mandate also applies to workers at those places.
The policy is similar to mandates issued in France and Italy last month and is believed to be the first of its kind in the United States.
The program will start later this month, and after a transition period enforcement will begin in mid-September, when schools are expected to reopen and more workers could return to offices in Manhattan.
Mr. de Blasio has been moving aggressively to get more New Yorkers vaccinated to curtail a third wave of coronavirus cases. He is requiring city workers to get vaccinated or to face weekly testing, and he has offered a $100 incentive for the public.
About 66 percent of adults in the city are fully vaccinated, according to city data, although pockets of the city have lower rates.

to bill the blasted hobo as well as most of the politicians and public health officials (more accurately known as MORE politicians) if americans believe that there is a government run conspiracy to give them vaccines in order to spy on them and otherwise harm them and therefor refusing to take potentially lifesaving vaccine of course the solution is to try to compel them to take it and to abuse government power as much as possible to harass them into taking it which of course SOMEHOW is supposed to convince them that the government isn’t secretly out to get them !!!!!!!?????????
this is a pure and evil power grab which only serves to convince people that the government is up to no good and that the government and the vaccine are in fact dangerous and to be fought with every weapon possible.

to go to a gym or a restaurent specific proof is necessary. and they are playing around with the need for a birth certificate, but anyone who wants to vote in an american election may do so because asking for proof of citizenship is racist. can someone explain this?

Once again comrade de Blasio is showing that he is nothing more than a two-bit tyrant and he must be removed from office. From everything I have read and heard from constitutional scholars, I am not even sure this has legal standing according to the US Constitution. I hope and pray if this low life piece of human debris excrement follows through with this stupidity, that he is immediately sued.
