Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) pushed back against House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) following his pledge to remove her from committee assignments if he were to become speaker. On Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, the Republican said he’d remove Omar along with Reps. Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff (D-CA) from their committees. “Congresswoman Omar, her antisemitic comments that have gone forward, we’re not going to allow her to be on Foreign Affairs,” McCarthy said, referring to Omar’s criticisms of Israel’s actions with Palestine.
In her statement, Omar said that the Republican Party has “made it their mission” to target her via “fear, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and racism,” inciting death threats and plots against her and her family. “McCarthy’s effort to repeatedly single me out for scorn and hatred—including threatening to strip me from my committee—does nothing to address the issues our constituents deal with,” Omar said. “It does nothing to address inflation, health care or solve the climate crisis. What it does is gin up fear and hate against Somali Americans and anyone who shares my identity, and further divide us along racial and ethnic lines.” Read more.

I have zero sympathy for Ilhan Omar. For the liberals who will condemn this just remember, what goes around comes around. The Democrats set the precedent by throwing MTG off all committees. This is the consequence.

One of your sources of pride has been your virulent positions on Israel, terror, and Jews. There is no way in which you would be capable of using any system of values to fulfill your political responsibilities without bringing your hate and racism into the scene. You were never qualified for anything related to foreign affairs, and your morals should have really barred you from public office. So your best option is to suck it up, and look for a place to retire where you cannot impose your hate on anyone else.
Since the election of Trump, the Democrats have declared war on Republicans, conservatives, and anything that includes moral value. They coverted partisan politics into all out war, and this has affected the entire country in a terrible way. Republicans have every right to hit back, and you Dems need to stop complaining. You were the ones to declare this war. May you lose in every way possible.
