Palestinians have publicized the personal information of the incoming chief of the Shin Bet security service, whose personal information remains confidential in Israel.
For security reasons, the incoming Shin Bet chief — who is the current deputy of the domestic security agency and will assume the top job in the coming weeks — can only be identified in Israel by the first Hebrew letter of his name, “Resh,” until he enters office.
However, Palestinian media leaked his name, photograph and address on Sunday, with the photo of the top security official stamped with a “Wanted” caption.
Among its various responsibilities, the Shin Bet oversees intelligence in the West Bank and is responsible for curbing potential unrest there.
