The Palestinian Authority announced that it would be “raging” on Tuesday at various confrontation sites in the West Bank, following US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s bombshell declaration last week that Washington no longer considers the Israeli settlements there illegal under international law.
The “Day of Rage” protest comes following an unprecedented two consecutive weeks of silence on the Gaza border, as the the committee in charge of organizing the weekly border demonstrations is reportedly mulling scaling them back to just once a month and for special events.
The West Bank protests are expected to take place in the Shcem area (Huwwara checkpoint), at several locations in the contentious Chevron area and in the Ramallah area.
