Not to quibble but Mayim Shelanu isn’t “performed”. It can be taken, collected, poured etc;but not being a Mitzvah in and of itself, writing performed is an unfortunate commentary on the sad practice of not allowing our Gedolim any “space” or privacy so it has become the “Mayim Shelanu Ceremony” which is being “performed”.

“Mayim Shelanu” is a noun, therefore it is not “performed”, which is a verb.
However we could say that Rav Chaim Kanievsky was performing the drawing of water, which when left overnight, will become “Mayim Shelanu”.
