Republicans are far more enthusiastic about former President Donald Trump running again for the White House in 2024 than Democrats are about President Joe Biden seeking a second term, according to the December I&I/TIPP Poll released on Tuesday.
Among Republicans, 60% said they wanted Trump to run again for president in the next election, while only 37% of Democrats want Biden to try for a second term in 2024.
Other results from the survey include:
- Among all registered voters from whichever party, 24% said they wanted Trump to run again, while 22% said they wanted Biden to do so.
- Among independents, 17% want Trump run in 2024, compared to just 8% for Biden.
- None of the 15 other potential Trump challengers for the GOP nomination listed in the poll were close, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis the highest at 11% backing among Republicans, followed by former Vice President Mike Pence at 9%, “not sure” at 5%, and no one else getting more than 3%.
- On the Democrat side, Biden’s own vice president, Kamala Harris, garners 16% support for the party’s nomination among Democrats, with 13% not sure, and no one else getting more than 3%. Read more at Newsmax.

Something doesn’t make sense about these polls. I’m on some online political forums and the overwhelming sentiment among former Trump supporters is “I used to support him but he has gone nuts after the election”
How is it possible that the pollsters are finding 60% support for him?
Agreed.
Can Trump work with anyone? He alienates everyone and berates every other one. Is he healthy? From what I understand he’s even held Jared and Ivanka for his election loss. Whoever worked with him, including Mike Pence has distanced themselves from him. He is though the world’s best – no he’s better than the world’s best. In fact he’s even better than that! Do we really need more of that?
Fake news. Fake poll. The true Republicans are sick and tired of Trump’s antics. It’s time to move forward.
As seemingly noted in these comments thus far, the poll makes no sense. Let’s hope it’s screwed up like most “polls” are. But even if the more savvy conservatives recognize that DJT won’t be the right candidate or right President, Trump himself can rip the party to shreds by fighting hard using his significant “base” among republicans, and possibly winning the nomination, or if he loses, making such a stink and a racket about stolen and unfair etc, like we know he can.
