The latest Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $400 million this morning, after the lottery drawing on Shabbos failed to produce a winner. The jackpot is the fourth biggest in U.S. history and the third largest in the history of the Powerball lottery.
If the winner chooses to take the prize in a lump sum, he or she will walk away with an estimated $230.3 million — but it probably won’t stop there. Powerball’s biggest-ever jackpot rose by $10 million between its penultimate drawing and the moment it was won last May. The drawing for this one is on Wednesday. Read more at philly.com.
