It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rabbi David Jemal zt”l.
Rabbi Jemal was the rabbi of the Har Lebanon shul in Flatbush and one of the leading rabbinic figures in the Syrian Sephardic community in Brooklyn.
Rabbi Jemal was supremely devoted to his mispallelim and to any community member who needed assistance. His ever-present smile and his sagacious guidance benefitted numerous families. With kindness and strong Torah hashkafah as his guides, Rav Jemal led his congregants with strength and conviction.
Yehi zichro boruch.

This towering man was likely the most humble person I ever met, yet somehow you felt yourself as the most important person on earth when you were in his presence. He was a true Tzadik, so precious, so real, so completely, and yet so simply. What a pure and great person he was, and he will truly be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. Tehe nishmato tzerurah Bitzror Hachayim.
