After announcing that parking in the national park and safari will be free only for residents of Ramat Gan and in view of the fear that this is a measure intended to exclude charedim, Carmel Shama Hacohen clarifies that he is willing to give the residents of Bnei Brak free parking,

Many residents of the cities near Ramat Gan were surprised after incoming mayor, Carmel Shama Hacohen announced on his Facebook page that the parks of the national park and the safari would now be free for residents of Ramat Gan.

The residents of nearby Bnei Brak saw this as an exclusion and repression of the ultra-Orthodox public, which visit these places en masse, especially during Chol HaMoad, as well as for evening strolls.

On his Facebook page, the mayor wrote: “Another decision is being made: the parks of the national park, the safari, and the grove adjacent to Kfar Maccabiah will be free to those who are not residents of the city.

In a conversation with Kikar Hashabat, Carmel Shama explains that the decision did not come to exclude charedim, but only to increase the municipality’s income.

The mayor said he would meet tomorrow with the incoming mayor of Bnei Brak, Avraham Rubinstein. {Matzav.com}
