Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman slammed the government at the dedication of Telz Stone’s new Avi Ezri neighborhood, named after his father-in-law, Maran Rav Elazar Menachem Man Shach.

“Soon it will be Chanukah, when we celebrate our victory over the Greeks and their followers,” said Rav Bergman. “In our generation, too, an erev rav has risen up against us, wanting us to forget the Torah and promulgating decrees against Torah students, Shabbos, conversion, and the Kosel.”

“May the Holy One help that in the zechus of Torah study, their plans fail,” Rav Bergman said. “As Rav Shach would say, Torah is always the answer to everything.”

Meanwhile, MK Julia Malinowski of Yisroel Beiteinu, chairman of the Knesset Committee for Religious Affairs, said she plans to advance “civil marriage, a conversion law, and public transportation on Shabbos.”

“And that’s only the beginning,” she promised.

According to Yediot Acharonot, economists told Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman that now was not the time to tax disposable plastic items and soft drinks, since this would harm the less affluent — and Israel ranks low in the usage of such items compared to Western countries.

But in the end, they deferred to Lieberman who wanted to “teach the chareidim a lesson,” Yediot reported.

  1. It’s a miracle that civil marriage and the conversion law didn’t happen throughout the years of secular anti-Torah regime. Now that they they have a G-dless PM who’s trying to fool the citizens with his pepsi beeny and a wife who’s anything but religious, they think they can do whatever they want to G-d’s country.

IT’S THE SAME GOVERNMENT WHO STOPPED YESHIVOS, GIRL SCHOOLS AND SHULS LAST YEAR. WHERE WERE YOU THEN WHEN YOU COULD HAVE CONTINUED LIKE MANY NEIGHBORHOODS WHO NEVER STOPPED ANY OF THESE?
