Two weeks ago, a man went to the bais hachaim in Bnei Brak to daven at the kever of the Chazon Ish.
Upon arriving at the kever, he was surprised to see a chicken resting on it. It was a strange sight. Why was the chicken in the bais hachaim and why was it resting specifically on the kever of the Chazon Ish? The man didn’t know.
The man took a picture and the matter remained unsettled.
This past week, the picture was brought to the Chazon Ish’s nephew, Rav Chaim Kanievsky, at his home on Rechov Rashbam in Bnei Brak. Rav Chaim was asked what he thinks the significance of the chicken on the kever is.
Rav Chaim looked at the picture and thought for a moment. Then he responded, “It would appear to be a gilgul of someone who has come to ask mechilah (forgiveness).”
