As protests over the military draft continue to intensify, criticism is increasingly coming not only from Israel’s secular public and government officials, but also from respected figures within the chareidi world. Over the weekend, Rav Doniel Wolfson, Rosh Yeshiva of Nesivos Chochmah, strongly condemned the conduct of some anti-draft demonstrators, warning that their tactics have strayed far from the values of authentic Torah.

So refreshing to hear this! I’m 1000% agreed.
rabbi wasserman in kovetz ma’amarim quotes the chofetz chaim as disagreeing.
rabbi grozovsky in his kuntros “ba.yote hazman”says the same
sometimes we are required to do actual battle against the enemies of torah, even at the cost of life.
Rav Elchnon Wasserman explicitly says in that piece that the kanoim loooooooove to misquote that we can not wage an actual war because we do not have those who can lead us in fighting the actual correct way. Rabbi grozovsky never wrote that in his kuntros called “bayes hazman” either and people who learn it don’t call it “ba.yote hazman”
Given the spelling and manner of reference to Rav Elchnon and Rav Reuven Grozovsky Wolf’s post was obviously written by an outside agitator who is quite literally looking for Jewish blood to be spilled. R’L
I see a tremendous hypocrisy in Matzav comments. On the one hand there are frequent pro violence and worse comments like that of wolf above. Some of the comments about the Yeshiva Bochur caught spying for Iran defended him. On the flip side Matzav and the comments here scream hysterically when a secular Israeli figure says and feels the same way about the Chareidi world who as these comments indicate are in fact his mortal enemy.
Are these demonstrations occurring solely because of the draft, or are they also a response to the imprisonment of young boys? Furthermore, are all those who dislike the demonstrations ready to go sit in prison instead of these young boys?
