Rav Eliyahu Zilberman, rosh yeshiva of the Aderes Eliyahu Yeshiva in the Jewish Quarter of Yerushalayim, was crowned rov of the famed Churva Shul in the Old City.

The appointment was made after the petirah of Rav Simcha Hakohein Kook zt”l, rov of the city of Rechovot, who was rov of the Churva Shul, having been appointed by Maran Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv.

On leil Shabbos Kodesh, the rabbonim of the Jewish Quarter arrived at the shul and formally introduced Rav Zilberman as the rov. They seated Rav Zilberman on the mizrach and danced with him.
