It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Meir Eliezer Pilchick zt”l.
Rav Pilchik was a shliach of the previous Karlin-Stolin Rebbe, Rav Yochanan Perlow zt”l, to build Torah and chassidus in America. He was wholly devoted to the Stoliner Rebbe shlit”a and to the previous Rebbe zt”l.
Rav Pilchik was a famous Alef-Bais melamed for many years and also raised many millions of dollars for tzedakos over the course of his life.
Rav Pilchik, born in 1931, was a son of R’ Nissin and Frumah Pilchick. After learning at Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim, he was the founding bochurim of the Stoliner Yeshiva
A chassidishe Yid from the old school, Rav Pilchik served as a melamed and menahel of Mosdos Karlin Stolin in Boro Park for many years.
Rav Meir and his rebbetzin, Mrs. Henya, nee Schechter, built a beautiful family of bnei and bnos Torah, and they opened their home to guests of all types. His chessed and hachnosas orchim knew no bounds. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his fellow Yid.
Rav Pilchik passed away this morning at Maimonides Medical Center in Boro Park, Brooklyn.
The levaya will start at the Stoliner Yeshiva in Boro Park at 1:30 p.m. It will then pass the Stoliner Shul on 46th Street at 16th Avenue. At 4 p.m., the levaya will continue at JFK Airport (Cargo Area B, Building 23).
Rav Pilchik is survived by his children, Rav Tuvia, Rav Yochonon, Rav Ephraim Aharon, Mrs. Bald, Mrs. Wolpin, Mrs. Binik and Mrs. Moshel; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and thousands of talmidim and admirers. He was predeceased by his brother, Rav Yisroel, who was his partner in the building of the Stoliner mosdos.

how is he related to the rav pilchik from tiferes yisroel/chofetz chaim?
I had the privilege of having R’ Meir Pilchik as my Aleph Beis rebbe. Even though I came from a non-Stoliner family, I always remembered him fondly.
For an American born in that era, the Pilchik family was unusual. The inspiration came from their father “Jaydee” (Zeidee) Pilchik, who was an icon to all the students at Karlin-Stolin.
Rav Yisroel was the 3rd grade Rebbe in Zichrom Moshe in the Bronx.
What a terrible loss: BDE:
