It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Menachem Mendel Mendelsohn, rov of Komemiyus, who suffered a heart attack. He was 74.
Rav Mendelsohn was a son of Rav Binyomin and Rebbetzin Chaya Miriam Mendelsohn. Rav Binyomin is credited with reinstating Shmittah observance among many segments of Jews in Eretz Yisroel. Rav Menachem Mendel continued his father’s holy work, providing guidance and encouragement to Shemittah-observing farmers, as well as leading his kehillah for over 30 years with grace and humility.
Rav Menachem Mendel’s wife, a daughter of the Belzer Rebbetzin, passed away about 20 years ago.
Rav Menachem Mendel is survived by an illustrious family. His sons are Rav Aharon, Rav Moshe, Rav Avrohom Mordechai, Rav Yisroel, and Rav Avigdor. His sons-in-law include the Gorlitzer Rebbe, Rav Yaakov Yisroel Lemberger, Rav Boruch Lebinsky, Rav Yisroel Ibenbaum, and Rav Shalom Yosef Silberberg.
The levaya was held today at the main shul in Komemiyus, from where the aron was taken to the Shamgar chapel in Yerushalayim, with stops being made at the Gerer Bais Medrash and the Belzer Yeshiva on Rechov Agripas. Kevurah took place on Har Hamenuchos.
Yehi zichro boruch.

Is it just part of life…or are we witnessing some unusual things these days…one after the other?
BDE. We need Moshiach now!
He was a close friend of Lubavitch and in the following video, HaRav Menachem Mendel Mendelsohn is talking to the Rebbe, zt’l, asking for advice regarding a yeshiva that is in need of financial help in Kiryat Gat.
