Rav Yehuda Goldberg zt’’l

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Yehuda Goldberg zt’’l, R’’M at Yeshiva of Telshe Alumni of Riverdale.

Rav Yehuda was born in Chicago, a son of Rav Yitzchok and Betty Goldberg, who were renowned for their Torah and chesed and instilled in their children ahavas haTorah and yiras Shomayim. Rav Yehuda learned at Telz Yeshiva in Chicago and then at Telz Yeshiva in Wickliffe, Ohio. He later learned by Rav Berel Soloveitchik at Yeshivas Brisk in Yerushalayim.

Rav Yehuda was an outstanding talmid chochom and marbitz Torah who spent his life immersed in Torah and avodah.

Rav Yehuda was a phenomenal masmid, learning at every available moment, and constantly striving to inspire himself and others towards greater aliyah in ruchniyus.

He taught his talmidim with tremendous ahavah, imparting to them a chiyus in learning, teaching them what being a ben Torah means.

Rav Yehuda is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Rav Yehuda’s siblings include Rav Aharon Dovid Goldberg, rosh yeshiva of Telshe Cleveland; Rav Efraim Goldberg of Lakewood; Mrs. Shani Eisemann, and Mrs. Leah Hess. He was predeceased by his brothers, Rav Chaim Goldberg zt”l, the legendary baal chesed and baal tzedakah, and Rav Moshe Tzvi Goldberg zt”l, R”M for many years at Yeshiva Gedolah Zichron Shmayahu of Toronto.

The levayah will be held today at 5:30 p.m. at the Yeshiva of Telshe Alumni of Riverdale, located at 4904 Independence Avenue in Riverdale, NY. To listen to the levayah live, call 712-832-5656 and enter Pin 500#. The aron will then be flown to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah there.
