It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Yissocher Wasserlauf zt”l. He was 72. A resident of the Jewish Quarter in Yerushalayim, Reb Yissocher was a renowned educator who served as the rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ahavas Chayim.
Reb Yissocher was a son of Reb Yitzchok and Faiga Wasserlauf.
Reb Yissocher was a well-known and influential figure in the Religious-Zionist community. For many years, he led his yeshiva in the yishuv of Kochav Hashachar, where he nurtured generations of talmidim.
He leaves behind his family, including his son, Yitzchok Wasserlauf, who serves as the Minister for the Development of the Periphery, the Negev and the Galilee and as a member of Knesset for Otzma Yehudit.
