It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Yitzchak Dovid Greinemann zt”l, the eldest son of the late Rav Chaim Greinemann zt”l. He passed away early this morning at the age of 77 at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.
In recent days, his health deteriorated and he was hospitalized in critical condition.
Rav Yitzchak Dovid was a son of Rav Chaim and Rebbetzin Chana Devorah Greinemann. , Rebbetzin Chana Devorah was a daughter of Rav Yisrael Shalom Luria.
The sandek at his bris was the Chazon Ish, who went especially to Yerushalayim to participate in the simcha.
In his youth, he studied at the Tiferes Tzion Yeshiva and later at the Slabodka Yeshiva.
He authored many seforim on the masechtos of Shas.
In addition to his Torah scholarship, he was a consultant on medical matters. Noted doctors were in constant contact with him, and many people were helped because of his relations with the best surgeons and doctors.
About a decade ago, he suffered a stroke, but continued with his daily routine.
He leaves behind his wife and many descendants who follow in his footsteps.
The levayah was held in Bnei Brak and kevurah took place at the Shomrei Shabbos Zichron Meir bais hachaim.
