Rav Yitzchok Olshin Appointed as Rov of Rav Shimon Alster’s Shul

Rav Yitzchok Olshin has been appointed as the new mara d’asra of Bais Medrash Torah Utefilah of Flatbush.

The shul was previously led by Rav Olshin’s father-in-law, the late Rav Shimon Alster zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah of Cliffwood.

Rav Alster was niftar three months ago.

Rav Olshin is a son of Rav Shmuel Abba Olshin, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah of Hillside, and a grandson of Rav Binyomin Paler zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva M’kor Chaim.

Rav Olshin is a renowned talmid chochom and marbitz Torah, and has served as the rosh kollel of the ever popular Flatbush Morning Kollel.

Last night, Rav Olshin celebrated the vort of his son, who is engaged to a daughter of Reb Mordechai Schron and a granddaughter of renowned baal tzedakah Reb Reuven Schron.
