It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Reb Zev Cohen z”l of Lakewood, NJ. He was 54.

Reb Zev was a beloved figure in Lakewood, most prominently at the Co-op supermarket, where he worked for years. Reb Zev had a kind word for every person, always greeting shoppers with a smile and a brocha.

For the last period, Reb Zev resided on Prague Place in the Locust Grove development.

He is survived by his wife, Tamar, and ten children.

The family will be sitting shivah at the Cohen home at 19 Prague Place.

The levayah will be held at 11:30 p.m. at the Belzer Shul in Locust Grove, followed by kevurah at the Lakewood Bais Hachaim.

  1. He was a special tzaddik who always had a smile for every person who greeted him and now he’s gone from us forever until we wake up and do serious Teshuva and Achdus together ASAP as one loving nation together so Mashiach can come already bkarov and He has Techias hameisim. To greet Mashiach.

    Let’s all wake up now in the middle of the aseres yemei Teshuva and beg Hashem forgiveness and to send Mashiach.

  2. So many people collapsing this year. And there are many more that aren’t written up in the news. Makes you wonder if it’s related to anything experimental that was pushed on people especially in Israel this past year…

  3. What a wonderful person. What a zeese Yid. I used to see him in the Co-op all the time with his ever present smile.
    May he be a meilitz yosher for his wife and children.
