It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rebbetzin Sima Chaya Visky a”h. She was 93 years old.

The rebbetzin was the wife of Rav Nosson Visky, rosh Yeshivas Ohr Boruch and one of the venerated talmidei chachomim of Yerushalayim Shel Maalah, and sister of Rav Yitzchok Scheiner, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Kamenitz in Yerushalayim.

The rebbetzin was born on the 17th of Teves in the United States to her parents, Rav Dov and Perel Scheiner. Her father was a righteous Yid who sacrificed greatly for Shabbos observance in the United States of that period, at a time when one could not earn a living without working on Shabbos. He went from job to job to support his family, seeking an occupation that did not require working on Shabbos.

The rebbetzin immigrated to Eretz Yisroel together with her older brother, Rav Yitzchok. She then married her husband, Rav Nosson, a son of Rav Yitzchok Visky, rosh Yeshivas Tiferes Tzvi. They established their home on the foundations of Torah and yiras Shaomayim.

The rebbetzin leaves behind generations of bnei and bnos Torah, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The levayah was held last night at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim and kevurah followed on Har Hazeisim.

Yehi zichrah boruch.
