R’ Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, famed philanthropist from Los Angeles, seems to outdo even his own magnanimous donations, never failing to astound the global Torah community with his generosity, cementing his place as the greatest baal tzedakah of his generation.

Just a week after his well publicized speech at the Mir Yerushalayim dinner – news of which was first reported here on Matzav.com and then picked up by media across the world – and his $10 million pledge to the yeshiva, Rechnitz is now funding a massive distribution of Kimcha Depischa throughout Eretz Yisroel in the millions of dollars.

The massive distribution, Matzav.com has learned, will involve no less than $5 million, which will be distributed over 3 days or so to about 35,000 mishpachos across Eretz Yisroel in what those in the know are calling the largest Kimcha Depischa distribution in history.

This year, beyond the main distribution through Mifal Oneg Shabbos V’Yom Tov led by Rabbi Ephraim Stern to about 17,000 families and the traditional distribution to about 7,500 bnei Torah families in Modi’in Illit, Rechnitz is also funding distributions to about 7,500 families of yungeleit in Bnei Brak, as well as mishpachos in Elad, Carmiel and Achisomoch.

In the city of Modi’in Illit, residents composed a special song in honor of Rechnitz and his wife, which was filmed during their distribution.

    Ah freilichen yom tov!!

    • Some people wear masks because there are all kinds of viruses, bacteria, flu, colds, disgusting people who spit when they speak, or those who don’t cover their mouth and nose when they sneeze. There are many reasons to wear a mask even a light weight mask that won’t filter out all the garbage in the air. Then there are those who are required to wear a mask because they’re vulnerable to all the items I mentioned earlier. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who will probably have to wear a mask for the rest of my life. I lost my spleen in an auto accident about 15 months ago. There really are many reasons why someone wears a mask.

    • The two people on the sides are brothers-in-law of Rechnitz, the one with the mask is nebach going through an illness and is immuno-compromised. That’s why he is wearing a mask. May he have a refuah shelaima.

  3. Boruch Hashem for SY Rechnitz and others like him! But why do we all have to know about this? Why must we publicize his generosity, which could limit his and his Choshuve Rebbitzin’s reward in Olam Haba? Shouldn’t we allow him his privacy, and not announce these kinds of things from the rooftops?

  4. H M there are no others like him it is not likely there is another hid that gives as much a percentage of his earnings to tzedakah as SYR

    • Do you know that for a fact? Do you know what other gevirim are giving? Do you know the exact percentages of what everyone is giving? Are you a Navi?
