Last year was a record year for organ transplants in Israel for a second consecutive year, with 592 transplants; a 13 percent increase over a year earlier.
Among 334 organs from deceased donors were 100 livers and 25 hearts, involving the possible murder of the donors before they were halachically deceased.
Live donors contributed 231 kidneys.
