Nadia Cohen, widow of famed late Israeli spy Eli Cohen, expressed her fury at the Mossad after a report emerged from New Zealand that the son of ex-Syrian president Amin al-Hafiz offered information on Cohen’s remains at a price of $1 million that was turned down by the Israeli secret service agency.

Newshub claimed that Al-Hafidh does not know where the remains are, but that he was willing to “try” to help find the body in return for a fee.

“I don’t know if that man is lying or not,” Nadia Cohen told Ynet. “But that [incident] happened with the Mossad and that information should have reached us,” she concluded.

  1. Obviously the secular oriented Mossad leaders do not believe in the Great Mitzvah of “Pidyon Shevuyim”. In years gone by, great efforts were made, by caring & committed ‘Frum’ Jews to raise (huge) funds for this purpose.

Brings to mind the story of the MaHaRam of Rothenburg, Rabbi Meir ben Baruch (c. 1215-1293), the last of the German Tosafists. He was captured, on the order of Emperor Rudolph I, & imprisoned in the Fortress of Ensisheim, where he died after 7 years. His body was not released until 14 years after his death, & only then, when a rich Jew from Frankfurt, Alexander ben Salomon Wimpfen, paid a huge ransom. The latter, after his death, was buried, per his request, next to the MaHaRam.

  2. The same evil Mossad that paid millions to get Yossele Schuchmacher back when they could’ve gotten Mengele Harashah.
