The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will retire all 11 of their touring elephants in May, a year and a half before they were planned to leave the productions.
The Associated Press reports that all of the elephants will be sent to a 100-acre center in Florida for permanent retirement.
The plan was moved up by 18 months because enclosures and spaces did not take as long as they expected to build out. Read more.
