Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., on Sunday called the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump “stupid” and “counterproductive”.

In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Rubio said “we already having a flaming fire in this country, and it’s like take a bunch of gasoline and pouring it on top of the fire.”

“First of all, I think the trial is stupid. It’s counterproductive,” Rubio declared.

“Second, I look back at a time, for example, Richard Nixon, who had clearly committed crimes and wrongdoing, and in hindsight I think we would all agree that President Ford’s pardon was important for the country to be able to move forward,” he added. “And history held Richard Nixon quite accountable for what he did as a result.”

  1. If the former President did something illegal and broke the law, let the attorney general or a federal prosecutor bring a case against him. Why does the Congress have to waste our money doing so? It’s not their job. The reason they are wasting our time and money with this impeachment sham, is to distract the dumb gullible tv sports watcher so they shouldn’t take notice of the utter failure of Joe Biden’s promises of vaccinating 100,000,000 Americans in his first 100 days! He campaigned on that and now the woke crowd finally realized that this old washed up prune can’t deliver a good bowl movement, let alone a vaccine to protect the dummies that allegedly voted for him.

    • To Anonymous 8:03 and Thinking taxpayer. Elected officials haven’t considered themselves employees in about 60 or 70 years. The last employed public servant was Daniel Moynihan and with his death died public service. Regarding prunes and bowel movements, just take the L out.
