Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday said Bill Clinton entering the Obamacare fray by commenting that President Barack Obama “should honor” his health care promise seriously “undercuts” the president.
Limbaugh told his listeners that the former president’s statement in an interview that Obamacare should be changed to make sure Americans can keep their health insurance shows “how the mighty have fallen.”
“Man, oh, man, I tell you, you talk about how the mighty have fallen, ladies and gentlemen,” Limbaugh said on his show. “Did you see where Bill Clinton has said that Obama needs to keep his word about keeping our insurance plans if we like ‘em?
“If you’re Obama, can you imagine being lectured to about honesty and integrity from a convicted perjurer, Bill Clinton? My gosh, folks, I mean, literally how far has one fallen when that is the case?” he said.
Limbaugh also said he wondered what spurred Clinton to come out at this moment and knock the president over his repeated promises that Americans would be able to keep their health insurance under Obamacare.
“Now, folks, when Der Schlick Meister comes out and undercuts the president of the United States on a promise the president made, ‘Yeah, I think he should honor that commitment.’ There’s always a motive,” Limbaugh said. “There are no coincidences with the Clintons. Nothing just happens. So you sit here and say, ‘Well, what’s in it for Bill Clinton to enter this fray? What’s in it for him here?'”
One of the possible reasons, of course, is Hillary Clinton, Limbaugh said. “But Hillary’s not gonna be running against Obama, as far as we know,” he said.
“So what’s in it for Slick Willie here?” the conservative radio host asked. “What’s the purpose for Slick Willie to head in there and insert himself in this and basically acknowledge that the president, Barack Obama, lied to people and now it’s up to the president to honor his commitment, change the lie? I personally find this fascinating.”
