The media are heading into damage control over the Herman Cain harassment allegations in light of a recent poll that shows 70 percent of Republicans believe the claims are immaterial to the presidential candidate’s campaign, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show.
“Think of all the news stories there have been . . . and after five days, there has yet to be a report what he did,” Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh called the story an “empty scandal” and paraphrased Wesley Pruden, editor emeritus of The Washington Times, saying, “If somebody like the Politico reporters would have brought this story to him, he would have thrown them down the steps, and if they survived that, he would have fired them.”
A recent Washington Post/ABC News poll revealed 7 out of 10 Republicans don’t think the accusations will have any effect on his electability.
“Every Republican nominee . . . is so superior to Barack Obama, it’s laughable,” Limbaugh said. “And the Democrats know that. Politico, you failed – you attempted, along with others in the mainstream media, to take the guy out, and you failed.”

But Cain’s own attempt to derail Cain seems to be succeeding, and very well too.
We may have to vote for somebody but we don’t have to glorify him.
Don’t need Rush to tell me that. It’s obvious it’s a setup, the Dems are desperate, the last thing they want is a black Republican candidate.
why is this web site supporting a man with 4 accusers of indecent behavior?
Easy for married-seven-plus-times-Rush to say.
Oh yeah Boro Park, it’s so obviously a setup. That’s why Cain has dealt with the accusations so smoothly and consistently.
And sorry Rush, some pretty specific details have come out. And they are despicable. Cain is not only professionally and intellectually unqualified to be president, but he is also not the man who we want.
