The name of an IDF combat soldier who fell in combat in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday was released today.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Office named the IDF soldier as Sergeant Aviv (Avrohom) Levi Hy”d, a brigade sergeant in the Givati Brigade in the southern Gaza Strip.
Aviv, who was from Petach Tikva and was a son of Yaakov and Perla Levi, is the first IDF soldier to be killed by Hamas since the 2014 Gaza war, also known as Operation Protective Edge.
Aviv was two weeks shy of his 21st birthday. He was supposed to finish his IDF service in three months.
