Tens of thousands of COVID-19 vaccines that were expected to arrive in Israel in the coming days have been delayed, Hebrew-language outlet N12 reported on Sunday.

The Jewish state received its first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines last week, raising hope that the immunization process will advance as soon as possible following the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of the vaccine for mass usage.

However, according to the report, Israeli officials received an update that the next shipment from Brussels to Ben Gurion Airport has been suspended to an unknown date.
