In order to realize the promise contained in the recently unveiled Middle East Peace Plan, Israel should begin annexing Area C of the West Bank without waiting for approval from Donald Trump’s administration, Yamina’s Ayelet Shaked while appearing on a special i24NEWS / Israel Hayom Elections coverage.
Israel should begin by annexing 50% of Area C (which represents 30% of the West Bank), home to the majority of the Israeli settlement blocs, Shaked said; in four years, according to the terms of the plan, Israel could complete the annexation.
Asked about the merits of the hotly contested plan, the former Israeli justice minister said that it contains both a risk and a promise, and that a Palestinian state would be a launchpad for terror against Israel, similar to Gaza, “a failed Palestinian state, a terror state.”
